Different regions do get different devices though. US gets a different 5G antenna, and chime gets dual physical sims, just as examples. I’m sure there are other differences between regional variants.

But is there enough bandwidth to spare such that you can still send data back the other way? Pretty much all displays function as a USB hub as well.

Overcast is king! Smart speed and voice boost are two stand out features. Can also use it in your Mac if using Apple Silicon.

Yay user testing! Actually the period was from autocorrect. But should specifying a specific date time, like I did, work? Seems like it wants relative time duration instead.

Yeah I guess swap and replace are kinda getting conflated in this discussion.

With that in mind, isn’t this kinda how things are currently? Not sure what services are offered by Samsung and other Android manufacturers, but you can get an iPhone battery renewed with OEM parts by the manufacturer for about $80, which really isn’t that bad if it’s the only thing wrong with your phone.

I think people get really hung up on batteries but IMO the real issue is screens. I’ll bet way more phones wind up in “they trash” due to cracked screens than exhausted batteries.

!remindme December 1.

Cool, we’ll see how that works. You should post about this if you haven’t, these are the Reddit features we’re all used to but aren’t sure about yet.

As far as data, ok. Haven’t ever looked for an 8k display. Nothing in the Apple world seems to do 90hz though, it’s 60 or 120. I wonder if MacBook Pro support display outputting those high res/high refresh rates also.

Oh yeah I mean their stuff has absolutely no resale value. Like I said, I think the introductory price is just to see if anyone nibbles, catch those “early adopters” such as it is, who for whatever reason didn’t buy the Studio Display, maybe cause they thought it would be market making and inspire competition.

Is there a !remindme 6months feature/bot in Lemmy yet?

Isn’t it a bandwidth issue? If not that, then probably it’s just too expensive to produce for a prosumer-grade product. I think there’s a market for this product, as there’s presumably a market for the Studio Display that they’re trying to compete with, but I would guess that this quickly drops to ~$1000 if they actually want to move these. Making this with a 5k/120fps display would certainly push their price above Apples and I just kinda doubt there’s enough of a market. Pricing it equal to the Studio display seems like they’re just testing the waters but no way can be a long term thing.
