Apologies. I misread you.

I'm fond of reality though. But for me that word probably has a bit different meaning ^^;

People are allowed to create boundaries for themselves. Just because they set a very fucking healthy boundary of no political posts on social media, doesn't mean they can't engage politically in other ways. Probably they'll have more energy to actually take concrete action when they're not just seething in front of a screen.

If you want to have political content, go make a sub and post there. Nobody is stopping you, and nobody is obliged to engage with content they don't want to.

It was a huge relief to me when I finally really got that there's no such thing as a person. Or any way you wanna express "consistent character". We're all just the sum of everything that happened to us and then we got into our heads that there's such a thing as a "true self" thanks to American sensibilities hammering hyperindividualism colored by belief in souls into us since we were kids.

Everybody is just a collection of mental situations in a trench coat. We just decided that the ones that don't allow you to work 9-to-5 and suppress all your emotions are the wrong ones to have.

Everything looks so nice and soft

So we read it together with my roommates, and now we’re all a little too aware of how weird reality is. The part about how writing made us forget how to really listen hit hard and like, we were reading it out loud to each other in kinda like a reading circle and it was great. Like I looked at my cat this morning. Really looked, you know. And I realized there's a WHOLE WORLD of experience there and she has one too. Im thinking of maybe starting to treat her more like a familiar now, well both of them...
