While I have no problem with most of China's principles regarding business. I don't know about all their politics and laws, nor have I given them much thought, but they deserve more respect than they get for essentially being the whole world's industrial estate and being able to pull off the amazing things they do while having virtually no copyright laws. Open-sourcing so many things we would rather make proprietary, thus very expensive for ourselves. I'm grateful to them for deepseek! Even if they want to spy on me a little, at least I know to expect it lol =)

When it comes to stock prices and value, I see the same kind of hype marketing surrounding it, not much happening in reality... Just a whopping 80 billion loss in only 6 months? It's just freaking insane, and CoreWeave being downgraded & losing 54% in 12 months is the sort of thing I would expect from the crypto market, not mainstream big tech companies.... The only real "mainstream application" I've witnessed thus far is an influx of low-skill hackers pulling off things they couldn't have done otherwise, and more fake social media accounts than ever before... some things Robots, taxis, and trucks to replace workers, and creepy unwarranted surveillance systems nobody voted on to pay for. I'm sceptical that mainstream businesses implementing these applications will be reporting enough substantial revenue growth to offset their running costs in the end. That only leaves protein folding in medicine to "cure disease", as if that will ever happen lol!

That's how it needs to be, and how it should be. Otherwise, we are all permanently screwed by big tech, subscribed and licensed to even own a computer by 2035; MicroSlop says open-source AI is good somehow, but we will see through their actions if they lock down their new line of NVIDIA Spark laptops to an approved number of models. I heard rumours that Deekseek might be banned in America; I can't see how that would work though.

Great for me; I'm "neurodivergent" anyway. Perish the thought of being forced to deal with sociopaths and other stressed-out employees I'd need to work with all day, every day until you die? Now that's my idea of going crazy!...

That's why I never really fell into religion. Like 10 times in recent history, the apocalypse or rapture was supposed to happen; people were clapping their hands for Jesus' return, thinking they'd be chosen to ascend or go wherever. For how long exactly? Have they always been like this? I can't help but stand there wondering if those people aren't wrapped too tight and loose with reality; they kind of worry me. It's like they actually want the world to end every waking day, and they believe it.

Traditionally, for inheritance & land tax purposes, the woman takes the owner's name; her attributes, kids & possessions are settled or accounted for upon her husband/father's death. Most of these laws were written in maritime law, where men were expected to die in battle or get lost at sea... So who gets a man's valuables is mostly why there are only 2 genders by law, and always have been... The only reason 70 + pronouns were floated as a concept came from Marxist communist pseudo-philosophy, zionists in the White House trying to subvert the education sector and universities to push transgendeisum. That's why all the Ivy League academic institutions have liberal democrats running them now, producing idiots who say "men can get pregnant". American education sector is being bought out, gutted and turned into political brainwashing camps for people who will believe anything.

I think demand is coming only from a small group of people, though; it's definitely not the rest of the S&P 500, since they're going bankrupt from it! lol

I think they'll shrink by half over a few years and revert back to the consumer market by repackaging all the hardware they couldn't get the power and data centres built for. They'll probably make a bunch of AI gadgets, then move on to the next thing.

AI is just the NFT version of the GFR, again, in 2026 and much worse. No one will be hype farming it after this crash. All the larping "AI bro" channels will go. Influencers sitting on the beach with their laptops, shilling how it makes them $100,000 a month while they sleep. Those people will go... What I suspect will remain of the industry is a completely niche sector for specialised applications in schools, hospitals, higher education, and film & sound design; it can reduce some of the burden at work if implemented well. But most of the public will remain staunchly opposed to a subscription-based life where AI drives every IoT device in their home or vehicle and generates sloppy, hallucinated content that doesn't help them but harms them.

NOTE: In a survey, over 60% of Microsoft users say they actively seek ways to bypass online account processes for local accounts and encourage others to do the same. If you can't sell the idea of mandatory sign-in just for syncing desktops because everyone understands why a PC is exactly that "a Personal Machine", everything is supposed to stay & run locally if it is indeed "YOUR COMPUTER"... I don't see the big 5 generating the revenue through online subscriptions to get them out of that debt spiral; local open-source AI models and cheaper hardware are the only way I see plausible mass adoption happening.

I'm not sure why I'd be installing actual Discord on Linux; I'm sure there should be an open-source fork somewhere that's less resource-hungry and less intrusive to the system... Just saying.

Precisely, Stoat or fluxer

I don't see it happening; Copilot was a failed proof of concept that crippled the Windows ecosystem and permanently tarnished Microslop's reputation as the premier operating-system developer; the Linux community doesn't openly embrace AI much at all, and gamers couldn't care less about it... All the LLM services have been running at a consistent loss/debt, and CoreWeave is propped up by the only 2 companies that couldn't even successfully launch a finished product. They need to cut their losses and pack it in; call it a day!
