It’s also the way they make cheap LED headlights. The reflectors that direct the beam of light in your headlights expects the filament of the bulb to be in a very specific spot, but LED headlights often have a much wider area where the light emits from than the little filament that traditional headlights do. So when installed in cars that aren’t designed for LEDs, the beam pattern can be off and make the light shine at people instead of down toward the road.

Not to defend Windows too much in a Linux community, but you can turn on verbose status messages for the screens you see during startup, shutdown, login and log off. It’s a setting that can either be turned on with the local or domain group policy, or by registry key.

Still though, it’s not as detailed as full console output, but is definitely more helpful than just telling you to wait.

As a trans person, if either of them had enough estrogen to make any sort of meaningful impact on someone’s body, trans women would be drinking a gallon a day.

I sometimes wonder why anything is wrapped in plastic at all. So many products are wrapped in plastic for seemingly no other reason than to indicate that it’s unopened.

That depends on your goal. If you want something free, open source and self-hosted then Plex isn’t the best option and you’d do better to look at Jellyfin or Kodi.

I think it’s a reference to r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu a very old, established subreddit for rage comics memes. Then when the trans meme subreddit became a thing, they copied the style of the name. Then they brought the same name over to Lemmy.

There are other subreddits with the same style name, like r/iiiiiiitttttttttttt for IT related memes.

I could be wrong, I wasn’t there for the formation of the /r/traa subreddit, but that’s my speculation.

I think that: sudo apt purge xfce4* sudo apt autoremove

should do it.

I’ll point out that the other answers here are also correct. It depends on how you want to clean it from your system.

“apt remove” will only remove the packages, not the config files
“apt purge” will remove the packages and config files
“apt autoremove” will clean up the orphaned dependencies
“xfce4” will only remove the DE
“xfce4*” will remove the DE and most of the other packages that come with xfce

There are three separate things going on.

  1. Gamers Nexus made a video exposing LTT for their lack of quality control in their videos regarding providing accurate information after a video where an LTT employee said that they did things better than Gamers Nexus.

  2. Gamers Nexus also brought to light a situation where Billet Labs loaned LTT their prototype liquid cooling block. LTT proceeded to publish a video where they tested it on hardware that it was explicitly not designed for and then proceeded to give it a bad review. In the video, it was clear that LTT knew it was the wrong hardware but Linus specifically said to not waste time on doing it right. After that, they failed to return the prototype and instead they sold it at auction during LTX.

  3. Ex-employee Madison made some pretty serious accusations of sexual harassment and a culture of not taking issues like that seriously. There have been a few “insider sources” that have confirmed her story, though I don’t think we know who they are yet. Nobody has mentioned who the harassment came from yet.

The top YouTube comment is great. It provides a transcription of what was said, a translation from hillbilly into English, and a possible explanation for what the actual intent was.

Despite what Mike Judge thought was someone complaining about Beavis and Butthead, the comment suggests the guy might be complaining about how the shows on another channel aren’t properly lined up with their schedule. So whenever he jumps on to watch his show, they are showing “Porky’s Butthole”, which is what he calls the “That’s All Folks” ending to a Looney Tunes show. And then he has to sit through several minutes of commercials before his show starts.

It gets so hot that it glows. Like how a filament in an incandescent light bulb glows when enough electricity is put through it.

Nah, I prefer the title without units. It allows me to imagine the oceans boiling, which would just cement Florida as being literal hell.

I know this isn't specifically transfem, in fact the author is transmasc, but I am transfem and this is the biggest trans community I can find. I bought the book "The T in LGBT" by Jamie Raines and I want to share it with my wife. She has a hard time reading paper books, and I saw there was an audiobook version of it on the UK Audible website. I tried to buy it there, but as soon as I entered a Canadian credit card, it told me that it wasn't available in my region.

Anyone know where I can get this audiobook that doesn't put region restrictions on it?

EDIT: In case anyone else comes looking for this audiobook, I found this Italian website that sold it. I signed up for the website with a fake UK address and paid with PayPal. I'm not sure if it was necessary to give a UK address, but that's what I did. After that, I was then able to listen to it with the Kobo Reader on my iPhone.
