Just think about your human friends.

They're all apex predators. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Maybe my friends are, but my potato self is definitely not

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

Potatoes are apex root vegetables.

Hmmm, so you're saying I should carry an elephant gun when I hangout with my "friends"?

[-] uis@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago

They are omnivores. But cats... Cats are.

All of my friends are apex predators. Most of my family too (except for the dogs).

You're not classified as human?

This is exactly how someone classified as human would respond to this kind of question.

This feels generous given the average person, but I see where you're coming from.

People can surprise you sometimes, it's one of our superpowers.

A few weeks ago, i read about people selectively breeding foxes, panthers and cheetas to make them tameable. So much to apex predators.

Trivia: those friendly foxes got a curly tail.

Ah yeah the Siberian fox experiment is interesting. They found that the tamer foxes had a tendency towards neoteny, ie. basically retaining juvenile features and slower development, and they even lost some of their intelligence too which was interesting. The same has happened with dogs, physically they're closer to juvenile wolves and generally they're also less intelligent than wolves.

Didn't know someone had tried the same with panthers and cheetahs though, that's pretty surprising. Sounds like a bit of a project to tame panthers of all creatures when even housecats aren't as domesticated as eg. dogs

Pretty sure googling that with the panthers was how i got to the siberian fox experiment. Though i have no links, sorry.

Are we back to bears again?

[-] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Back to the question of what's more fuckable?
