It has its own way of scraping YouTube and is using Invidious

If you mean having the apps in Windows. Then if you are running Windows 11 you can install APKs natively. So youtube revanced would be a good shout. If your on an older version of Windows, there is Bluestaks Android emulator.

I hope that the download function with IDM remains intact. I will download the videos and then watch them because I refuse to let advertisers dictate my eyeballs

I mean, I get it. Running a massive website like YouTube costs a LOT of money. That being said, the multiple unskippable ads before and during videos make for a terrible user experience. Maybe they should consider dialing that back some. Maybe that would get people to reconsider their use of an ad blocker.
