I gotta say after playing Forza Horizon 4, the last thing I need is more story in a driving game. I just want to drive around and race. I don't care about being some up and coming racer or something. Just shovel in some lame story to keep the game part moving along and I'd be happy.

Nah I completely disagree. I think a good story would be amazing in an open world racing game. The problem is that forza horizon 4 and 5 (never played the others) both have awefully boring stories, barely anything more than the "up and coming racer" you mentioned, yet always throwing its vapid nonsense in your face. Tbh it feels more like a power fantasy or smthn than an actual story.

That's cool, I can see your points. You're right in that the story in Horizon 4 was totally like a weird power fantasy or something more than a real story. It was so bad...

Has Amazon Games released anything decent? I feel like I’ve heard they exist but not of anything well-regarded released by them. Like the only thing I can think of offhand was a tie-in game for The Grand Tour when they started streaming the show.

I've heard that New World is in a good place now. I'm actually planning to take it up again to see if it's true.

Cool. Hope it has mod support unlike Forza, or at least doesn't prohibit it. VR would be nice as well since the only options for racers in VR are sims, or F1.
