Hi,

KDE neon is a Linux distribution built on top of the latest Ubuntu LTS release (22.04 at the moment)

KDE neon

Since 22.04 no longer is the latest Ubuntu LTS, is KDE neon now based on 24.04, or is it still based on 22.04 ?

It would be nice to have this info in About this System, so we wouldn't be in doubt.

Thanks

So far the main issues are all the changes needed for 64-bit time_t to fix the y2k38 problem

My understanding is that 64-bit time fixes are only needed for 32-bit architectures, based on Debian's notes about the time_t migration project: https://wiki.debian.org/ReleaseGoals/64bit-time. 64-bit apps already have a 64-bit time_t, at least in Debian (and I assume Ubuntu too) with their standard compiler settings. It's mostly for 32-bit ARM CPUs. 64-bit architectures still need to be tested since build/code changes can unintentionally affect them too.

Idk, but Ubuntu recommends its 22.04 users to Update when 24.04.1 is out.... so my guess is that all others wait for 24.04.1, too

That's not how Neon works. Your install will upgrade itself once the team have finished rebuilding everything on top of 24.04 - it's happening, but it takes a bit of time
