Fantastic fucking episode.

Nightcrawler's eulogy for Gambit was perfect and showed a real love for the character from the writers

The sudden twist from relief that Sunspot's mom knew and accepted her son as a mutant to betrayal that she wants to keep it secret mirrored what a lot of LGBTQ youth go through with their own parents

Rogue going off in her grief and actually trying to kill Trask when he was no longer useful was jaw dropping

And some cameos from Captain America and Thunderbolt Ross, with a Hulk name drop to boot

Another line that I found impactful was the medic:

Triage dies down when the dead stay dead. When we first set up and the injured started flooding in, bad things happened. Everyone wants to be a survivor, but when you actually see one fresh off the belt... a survivor is the last thing that I'd want to be

Captain America, Ross & the Hulk name drop was such a surprise. I know this is a continuation series but apart from the X-Men themselves I really didn't remember any previous cameos. It's fun to exist in a world where these folks could just show up at anytime.
