HW supply chains have been an absolute mess since Covid. It’s very, very possible that it’s a true supply chain constraint. Companies have been doing all sorts of crazy stuff to maintain or get access to HW components. This includes things like paying 3x to “steal” a shipment from another customer.

People who are not in HW have no concept of how long and unreliable lead times have gotten.

I do hope that the lower manufacturing amount doesn’t limit the development of the vision pro, I do think it will be a transformative technology. But not at the current price tag for me

Imagine if they managed to manufacture the projected 1 million units and most units rot on shelves. Maybe manufacturing a lower amount of units and getting headlines saying they're "sold out" is better for them.
