Oh thats shit. I find it helps to see hard times like that as growth, not that ive been through anything that unfair. Going for a walk or something does it for me nowdays wbu

I walk a lot too. Movement and music keep me mostly sane. The hard part is feeling big emotions while being unable to actually express them, like during work

Yeah thats hard

Don’t you put that blame on yourself. Life really really sucks sometimes. It’s okay to feel sad, don’t make it worse than it has to be by thinking things could ever be different than they are.

Go through the motions but keep an eye out for opportunities to feel something positive.

I figured out I really feel at peace in the woods. If I’m feeling down I go there and walk around or sit or whatever.

Find your woods.

when things get too real for me_irl

For relatable posts that are too real for !me_irl. Meaning jokes/posts about mental health issues and self deprecating humour.

This is a subreddit for memes that hit too close to home or are too real for communities like !me_irl

If you have depression, talk to a therapist, it really does help. You are not alone, and recovery is possible and worth it.

If you find jokes about suicide, depression or self harm upsetting, this sub might not be the right place for you. This is a place for people who use self deprecating humor as a coping mechanism, not for those making fun of mental illness.

With that out of the way, the rules are as follows:
