It is worse than that, you can't trust a person with nothing to hide.
If a person have nothing to hide, that means that by definition anything told to them will be pubic information.
I would never be able to trust someone like that, I need to be able to confide in my friends and know that the information will be kept private.
A person with no secrets can't be trusted.

Having nothing to hide isn't the problem. Not caring about privacy is. Activists, lawyers, journalists, doctors, politically opressed, some kinksters and the likes need protection!
When someone says they have nothing to hide it tells me two things about them:
- They are a liar
- They have something to hide
Everyone's a criminal if you look long and hard enough.
Everyone's a criminal, depending on what is considered a crime.
I always ask the people who "have nothing to hide" if they also leave the door open when they go to a public restroom.
