As the title says, some images load for half a second, then turn into a white "broken image" icon. If you then tell connect to "open external" it opens the image in a web browser, and that works just fine.

It's just the weirdest thing. The image loads, you see it for a split second before it changes. This happens frequently enough to be annoying. I'm not sure if it's just a certain file type or what. Maybe it's webp's?

Here's an example post that is doing it for me: https://lemmy.zip/post/8235310

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I've pushed a possible fix in ver164 on the beta channel.

[-] tomten@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

now it seems links doesn't open anymore like it used to. if I click on the image of a post it used to open link.

I'll take a look! Is this for all images or specific images? What happens when you open an image?

Thanks, it's when I click the thumbnail for a post that is a link to it opens the image instead of opening the link as it used to.

Edit: it's on a tablet if it makes a difference

Ok thank you that is helpful. I think I see what's going on (this is the breaking image https://lemmy.zip/pictrs/image/aa9afd51-0d2e-492e-b485-74e9d0a852c2.webp?format=webp but this works https://lemmy.zip/pictrs/image/aa9afd51-0d2e-492e-b485-74e9d0a852c2.webp so I'm guessing Pictrs doesn't like when I'm specifying the webp format on images already in that format). Should be fixed in the next release (tomorrow).

Great, thank you

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !memes@lemmy.world
