It's definitely nice to have a few communities. Just make sure:

• Add the community to community boost.
• Search the community from other big instances (like lemmy.world, lemmy.ml) to make it available for their users.
• Post it to communities like !newcommunities@lemmy.world.

As you can see, the problem is reachability and first two items fixing that.
