But why does the relevant Wikipedia page not show it in an image but only in text?

Also not sure about not-sea otters.

My theory is that otters have hacked the Wikipedia page in an attempt to erase the photo proof so that no one sees it and wants to steal their special rock!

Also, I wanna share these LOOOK

a happy otter holding a rock

a happy otter laying on its back holding a few rocks

Ok, I'm here to start a fight!
I reject the notion of "non-sea otters"! Enhydra are the weirdos among the Lutrinae, and the default assumption of otter should be Lutra, Lontra, Aonyx etc.

Where I am, we have tons of river otters. We see them rarely even just when looking out our window. They're far more "normal" here than sea otters. If anything, I'd be concerned if I saw a sea otter over here.

I don't know if I'd say one or the other is weird, though.

I always upvote otters, and their Lutrinae kin! ๐Ÿฅฐ

(Yes, that's me on the right. ๐Ÿ˜‹)

Any otter fans in the south of England should consider visiting the British Wildlife Centre. I never would have imagined that they would be capable of eating that amount of fish.

Yep, that's about right (and I have first-hand knowledge of this).

But do the otters then become emotionally bonded to the rock, such that even when offered an objectively better rock, they often value the sentimental above the practical?

I'm no expert (not even close,) but from what I understood of what I had read about them, it sounds like they do. I can be the same haha
