The comic has been running since 2005 and is published on the website explosm.net along with animated shorts in the same style. Matt Melvin left C&H in 2014, and several other people have contributed to the comic and to the animated shorts.

History

@MrSebSin@sh.itjust.works started this community and wrote:

About this community and how I post the comics… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. Of course these days you can read your favorite comics online instead of a newspaper, but I love the nostalgia of reading the daily comics. Anyway, one of my favorite current comics is Cyanide and Happiness and I will be posting the daily release from their website (https://explosm.net/) and a an extra or two randoms.

I don't know enough USA to understand this.

Mimes dont talk. Pleading the 5th is invoking your right to remain silent. But he's speaking it instead of miming in which would have taken ten more panels but been much better.

Also for more context cops in the USA arrest people unjustly.

Well, they did say that they were a shitty mime

Yea, that's the joke I guess...

The mime is actually doing the right thing here, due to an oddity in US law:

https://www.justia.com/criminal/procedure/miranda-rights/right-to-silence/

Courts have admitted the paradoxical nature of the right to remain silent – an individual must verbalize that they are invoking their right to remain silent.

He didn’t mime it because then he would not have been a shitty mime, which is why he’s under arrest in the first place.
