Einstein was racist towards Chinese. He is not a angel that can't have terrible beliefs anyway

it seems that everyone is flawed in some way and it'll probably do us well to keep that in mind when we confront people who we don't agree with.

It's also the common phenomenon of "person who dedicated his entire life to X knows nothing about people and politics besides what's popular". Very "where is Ja Rule?!" of us, lol.

It's also weird to take a speech fron 1955 without context and frame it in todays world.

There's no valid "context" that would place blame on the locals for the "tensions" instead of the Western colonizer project of Israel. But, like I said, ignorance (including propagandised views) is enough of an explanation, I'm not saying he was evil or anything (idk Mr. Einstein enough to make any claims about his morality).

Well that just depends on whether you believe in the holocaust or not. If you do then in 1955 you might have believed that the Jewish people deserved a home of their own. In this day and age it's getting harder to argue for it.

Actually quite the opposite, if you think about it. Jewswere just the victims of ethnic cleansing.

It's kind of weird to then be completely impervious of doing the exact same thing to another people.

What's the veracity of the source? Who is laying claim to this posthumous publication of a speech that contradicts Einstein's *previous anti-zionism? Wouldn't Israel benefit from their "legacy" including the support of respected socialist and scientist like Einstein?

Would love some sources and where it came from to be included than just these screenshot.

Edit: a few no name zionist publications with a broken link to Israeli state archives. Reeks of hasbara, do a little more due diligence OP and stop falling for the bait that zionists are putting out for you.

*correction from precious to previous

Thanks for the heads up I'll check out the source

Edit: Einstein met with the Israeli consulate and his speech was planned on Nakba day. Einstein was way more of a Zionist than I thought.

Think about it for two seconds. Einstein got offered presidency of Israel. Do you think that would ever be offered to a non-Zionist?

Also he was fundraising with the World Zionist Congress president for colonist education of Jews in Israel. Einstein was a sneaky Liberal Zionist fox.

When visiting South America he wrote to a friend that he has "no desire to meet semi-acculturated Indians wearing tuxedos", and described one of the scientists as "a monkey".

Turns out Einstein was German all along.

If these so-called geniuses and inventors of the past lived right now, I'm pretty sure most of us would hate them as much as we hate current billionaires.

To my initial surprise, physicists tend to be very much aligned with whatever ruling powers of the time.

You won’t engage in meaningful philosophical conversation with most of them. And many are even actively religious.

I would have thought otherwise, since I always believed that they searched for some kind of enlightenment, and were driven by curiosity to understand the universe and our place in it.

Very much not. Many seem just to care about their publication and citation indices, want to appear grandiose and are openly narcissistic.

There are exceptions here and there of course.

Very intelligent people, but understanding the inhumanity of zionism seems to require another kind of intelligence.
