Could someone tl;dr what "picking enterprise as a goal" means for KDE?

Doing stuff that makes it easier to deploy and maintain KDE/Linux for enterprises and other large organisations, like government institutions, where an IT department does centralised management of the computer (updates, access policy, restrictions, printer configurations etc etc)

Specifically, stuff like enforcing locking the session after inactivity. Lots of compliance requirements include items like that.

Thanks.

That's much more pedestrian than the wild ideas zipping through my mind when I saw the term.

Of course I can totally get behind this.

My KDE experience has been nothing but nice so far, like the whole project is nice.

Hahaha! Man, I am not using KDE, but I had the same line of thinking... ;)

The system is called LCARS -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCARS . It's obviously optimized for dramatic show time effect, but there are themes to make your systems look a bit like it.

RHEL moved away from KDE and landed purely as a GNOME only enterprise shop. Possibly KDE might invest more on the Kubuntu desktop or something
