MODERATORS
None of the mobs have differentiated sexes, and aside from Steve, all of the default player skins are androgenous
not only that, the animals are all true hemaphrodites (any two animals of the same species are able to reproduce)
edit: i take that back, chickens reproduce asexually
chickens can also reproduce sexually if you feed two nearby chickens seeds
All mobs other than the final boss have no gender (she is also named Jean)

I'm just worried it'll be more empty than the nether pre 1.16
So before strongholds? Yeah the only decent thing there was glowstone.
The fortress was in the game since 1.0. Beta era Minecraft in general was more empty, so the nether being nothing but lava, rack, and ghosts that shoot fireballs wasn't so strange. However, as the game has matured, empty areas feel emptier. They'll probably build on it over several game drops, but it'll probably start off with just a single biome and a mob or two.
Considering they hired the lead developer behind the Aether 1 and 2 mods in 2020, it amazes me that we're only seeing a new dimension now tbh. But I think he was involved in the Nether updates
I miss Aether, I might need to check in on the progress of Aether 2 as last time I checked the rest of the team had a break before picking it back up again but that was packed with way more interesting stuff than the Nether ever was imo
