I've had a few friends kick off keto/carnivore and the question keeps coming up - what should they measure before they start, 3m, 6m etc?

OTOH, if I could go back and do this, I'd record

  • Resting blood pressure
  • Resting heart rate
  • Waist circumference, height
  • Triglycerides
  • HDL
  • Morning fasted blood glucose and insulin level
  • Gum-line (have dentist take photographs)
  • Hairline, colour, density (take photographs)
  • Eyesight metrics
  • Sleep metrics, snoring
  • Kidney function (eGFR)
  • Liver function (ggt, ast, alt)

Tinnitus improved for me, but I have no idea how to measure that. Maybe hearing tests?

Thats a good list! I'm thinking Judy Cho's journal make sense too

  • mood and feeling journal daily

and now i'd probably add sexual performance and function in that journal, daily activity, morning activity... some of the changes are slow and sneak up on you but are drastic changes when looking back at a journal (brain mood, function, etc)
