I am trying to make a no belt no train factory but ts is too much? Ores on the right tile, melters on the left.

Add more roboports where you want them to be.

If I wanted a solely bot-baaed network, I would seperate ores into their own network like slazer suggested, but also make a solid line of roboports within the network. The robots flying to distant roboports tells me theres not enough roboports, so add more until they stop doing that.

And also, I agree with direct insertion to furnace being the way to go. I'd also make gears and steel at the ore patch, too, because both of those take multiple iron plates. Getting 1000 gears into your main base, at the max cargo size of 4, takes 250 bots carrying gears but 500 of plates, and 1000 steel is 250 bots of steel but 1250 bots of plates to then smelt.

If I was building a botmall, I'd also try to put them wherever the most expensive component was. Even if they're not directly connected to production, if I can minimize the trip it'll be way more efficient.

Too much with respect to what? Do you like the design? Bots are less CPU intensive so you get better ops/s in megabases

İ like the design but there is the issue bots batteries running out and the queue at the roboports. I guess I will remove it with a mod then it will work.

Build more roboports along their path and they won't queue up.

Have you thought about smelting on patch? Make the miners deposit the ore directly into electric furnaces, then have the bots pick up the output. It saves one trip, or 2 with steel.

Then I would segment the bot networks by purpose.
One for the base, one for each ore outpost where possible, and another to link the outpost to the main base. You can use a series of requestor chests, inserted arns, and passive provider chests to bridge the bot gaps.

Must everything be on a single robot network? If I were to try such a challenge, I would make isolated robot "outposts" with a couple of chests as buffers to bridge with the main robot network.
