That "net" that captured Rozemyne's highbeast is supposed to be the same as the net that Ferdinand used on the night of Schutzaria.....

I had thought it was supposed to be a schtappe transformation, but according to a wiki, it's more similar to the bands of light spell. They shoot out of your schtappe. One is a single band, and the other is a net. But both are linked back to your schtappe, at least while you're casting them.

So, anyways, they screwed it up in both episodes. Previously, Ferdinand didn't even have his schtappe out and it wasn't connected back to him. And in this episode, it wasn't really a net.

Also, what's the deal with Rozemyne completely exiting Lessy when she was captured? I think even anime-only people will think that's super weird. She was just yanked out of the sky with a net, so the guy who made the net should be right there, and it's not like Lessy can be damaged in a crash, and he's clearly agile enough to just stand back up if Rozemyne hadn't just been tossed around the cabin due to her not wearing her seatbelt.

Replying to myself, but watching the animation of Rozemyne getting captured makes me think that the LN's version has some problems, too.

Because it seems like the LN's version of her being captured relies on Lessy being physically smaller than shown in the anime, but in order for Angelica to ride on top of Lessy, which is essentially in the same scene, you would think that it would have to be about the same size as shown in the anime.

It is possible that in the process of Rozemyne fighting the net, Lessy could have gotten less mana and shrunk. Maybe that actually did happen in the LN and I just forgot. It's also possible that Lessy was just already very small, and Angelica was riding on the top of a vehicle that was essentially smaller than her. That's not inconsistent with the way magic works there, but it would surely look very strange.

So, I guess the animators thought they'd fix the problem by having Lessy a reasonable size and having Rozemyne exit like she had just wrecked her car. But that doesn't really make sense.

I reread that part. This is just yet another example of the adaptation not giving a shit. In the light novel, Lessy is on his side, and Myne stands up, with her upper body half outside the window since Lessy is only half as wide as she is tall. That's when she gets grabbed by the light rope and is pulled out of the window. The size of Lessy is the same in the anime, so there was absolutely nothing holding the adaptation back from doing the same here. But instead, they opted to have her climb out of the safety of Lessy like some idiot. At least they are consistent, since they prove in every single episode that they neither read the source material nor understood it.

The falling and capture scene: I feel like they could've sold it better. I just thought it was a bit strange how Myne would crash but Angelica is fine, then Myne can't get to them but Cornelius could (Could make sense if everybody, including the kidnapper, normally slows down their highbeasts to match Myne's speed. Or she can't accelerate very quickly. Or I guess you could say Myne is just a klutz, that seems like the answer that the anime is selling.), then Cornelius rescues them by intercepting them feet off the ground which is somehow fine. It was just a bit too much all at once for me to take in.

Grandpa Bonifatius beats up the intruders with his bare hands, really putting the knights to shame there. It seems like the season finale next week will be high stakes high action. I'm rooting for grandpa.

Another awkward episode. The moment you see something suspicious you stop... yet they continued walking. The guards were 500% useless and the 10 guys managed to jump through a single window when it was full of guards inside.

I would also presume the building would have multiple layers of barriers to prevent this kind of invasion...

The only positive thing I can say about this is that after next week they will have two years to remove the current staff and get their shit together. Better yet, get another studio entirely. Is KyoAni doing something at the moment?
