My kid is 5, he will collect about 10lbs of candy. At the rate we let him consume candy, there's basically no chance of him finishing it before Christmas, where he'll acquire additional candy. Then his stock will be replenished by Valentine's, then again by Easter. Because my family is Orthodox and my wife's is regular Christian, he'll get two easters (most years). There's a summer lull, but he'll go to several birthdays which will give him goodie bags, which will help keep his candy topped off.

The tax is necessary!

Mounds. Almond Joys and Butterfingers are reserved for the "mom & dad tax".

those were my mom's favorites, too. but she didn't hog 'my' butterfingers. she always had her own stash of the unwrapped little square ones in a box (a package type and size i haven't seen in years).

For me it's Twix and Sour Patch Kids

At least the person above you is taking low-tier candy, stealing either of the ones you mentioned should be a felony.

Those are the best.

At least that tax is for a service received. In reality it is funneled to billionaires and the MIC and you get zero benefit back.

That is not what tax does.

Billionaires get it funneled through other means and try to pay the least amount of tax possible.

We need more tax, and ones the billionaires can't avoid.

Why is the service even necessary? Can't the kid just walk with some other kids?

You'd let a 4-year-old roam the streets at night with some friends?

No, I was under the impression this would be happening in the early evening hours for such small children.
