Never forget: due to IDF conscription rules, there are very few actual Israelite 'civilians'. There are a bunch of people who would be referred to as enemy combatants if they were Arab, Palestinian, or Persian, which would open them up to being targeted in ways that are much worse than anything that actually happened on Oct 7.

When this was posted to Reddit a couple days ago, in the comments it was pointed out that this was written four days after 10/7, and she has since walked back these comments. The article was uncharacteristic of her. While she of course should be criticized for this article, given Klein’s decades of pro-Palestine activism before and since, I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt.
