I had the same thing as the anon in school, many moons ago. I was sitting in the seat in front of a girl I had a crush on. I thought she had moved her foot and was touching mine, so I sat still for about half an hour thinking I was touching with her. Turns out it was a metal part of her chair.
I think I actually got the foot once in school. But I couldn't look with the desk in the way.
