I'm watching the Channel 5 "Inside The Rise of Germany's New Far-Right" and some people actually have pretty based takes when it comes to their criticism of Zelensky and Germany funding the war in Ukraine. Never expected to hear that, always thought that AfD would be supportive of the war.

Considering absolute lack of interest in containing AfD from any German govt, i'm more and more convinced they have to be op steering people contesting government narrations into open fascism. I mean come on, Germany cracked on a Marxist book club but left barely even legal fash party to openly grow for decades?

It was already obvious but became very clear maybe three years when undercover reporting revealed that the AfD's self-proclaimed primary objective was getting the mainstream parties to take on their xenophobic and reactionary policies and of course that this strategy is working. Yet the scandal around that reporting surrounded their language regarding "remigration" and not how they gleefully gloated that the other parties are doing their work for them in state and federal parliaments.

Some people also think the Merz regime (and its "mishandling" of many issues and mask-off fucking over working people) is an op focused on increasing AfD support.

Even if not, class interests converge here.

I do think the increased vehicle attacks are done by the more nazified BND to increase AFD support.

I am convinced the drone events are false flags, either BND (with it's newly codified "license to kill" as well as permission to operate within the country) or Ukranian front groups a la Operation Gladio. The public is less and less worried about this "Russian invasion" we have been promised, but there are billions of Euros still to move from social programs to the capitalists and weapons programs and even with this goverments' blatant disregard of what the people want they seem to still want some gesture of support.

As for the road vehicle attacks... You may be on to something there as well.

The AfD is an opportunist party that happily adopts these kinds of positions since the Left party has completely abandoned their peace positions and the peace movement as a whole.

Their voter base in the east also were formerly Linke/BSW voters.

[–] funky_tomatoe@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 4 weeks ago

There are no former BSW supporters. The BSW was founded 3 years ago, every election they have taken part in so far has been their first time on the ballot. It is true that a significant part of the left party supporters started voting AfD but the way bigger part of the afd base, also in the east, are former CDU,SPD or non-voters.

Yeah they make sounds about rapprochement with Russia but seem to be buddy buddy with Israel genocide. Which could be interpreted that they are pro money because Ukraine is starting to cost immensely but Israel is a paying customer.

every other party is supportive of the war, so of course afd is gonna be performatively against it. that's their angle.

The AFD is a incoherent mess of populist messaging and protests sentiments devoid of dialectical material analyses.

You get anything from nazis to confused leftists working class members.

lol in europe theres a weird situation where we are divided between who supports the west vs russia and within those camps there are left-right sides (eg. ”russia is a pure christian state that helps us curb western perversion” vs. ”russia is an anti imperialist state and only they can fight the west”, AFD must be in the first camp.

Trump bashed Obama in 2011 saying that Obama would start a war with Iran to get himself reelected. Right wingers can't be trusted worth shit.
