The espresso elite are only there because they foment divisions between the pour over, french press and moka pot filthy peasants.
The instant pariahs deserve all the beatings they get though.
As someone who you’d probably consider an espresso elitist, I also love moka pot. It’s a great way to get stronger coffee without needing to spend a ton of money. I don’t like it as much as espresso but I’d say it’s 80% as good, for way, way cheaper.
Also, I don’t consider myself an elitist, I don’t disrespect others or anything like that, I just happen to like the same drink that the snobs do. I hate their attitude but agree with their tastes, if that makes sense. I wish espresso wasn’t so pretentious, but it’s fun to make fun of.

I don't know how y'all can be satisfied with a cup of straight espresso. My latte keeps me going until lunchtime.
Slowly sipping a really nice shot of espresso has got to be in my top 5 most pleasurable experiences in my adult life.
Same. Starting the day with a nice, rich, slowly sipped doppio is a joy.

Espresso people probably only drink straight vodka too
I could see your point if you said whiskey but not vodka. Good espresso should have tons and tons of complex flavour notes and volatile aromatics. Straight vodka just tastes like hand sanitizer.
Keep in mind this is coming from someone who loves espresso and whiskey but doesn’t understand the allure vodka at all, outside of getting drunk or adding alcohol taste to a cocktail without adding other flavours.
Nah, there's gotta be flavor. Like straight, unaged Jamaican rum or tequila, or boozy cocktails. That said, I enjoy my espresso sweetened and with added milk (espresso macchiato or just espresso with milk), and I also enjoy very sweet liqueurs ...
Its not my fault Tito's is so smooth.
