I feel like that would make me extremely claustrophobic.
I would freak out so much harder if I was having a panic attack and then someone was already in there.
That looks absolutly tiny.
It's basically a covered, maybe sound dampening bench. How big should it be?
As a tall person, this looks to be too small vertically.
On the other hand, most people only want to use that space alone.
It has a seat.
You go in, sit down and rest a little.
I've seen them at big conferences and big offices (although, most are private pods for work, some offices do have little private/quiet booths for sitting in).
And a lot of tall people are also quite tall after sitting down, e.g. I recently drove a car and put the seat basically to the lowest setting to get enough head clearance.
The space between that bench and the roof still looks tiny.
Yeh, probably sucks for a lot of disabled people as well.
As a tall person myself, I have used similar and haven't had an issue. But there are taller people than me, so maybe I am not tall enough.
Bus stop benches are also horrible. As are most seats in fast food restaurants. Airplane seats are also too small.
Some seats aren't meant for a long time of sitting, or have other priorities I guess.
There is also only 1. Not great if you need a break at the same time someone else does.

What's needed is a whole library with sound insulation and big comfy chairs. And, the whole thing is a faraday cage, so no internet. I bet people would use it.
This is a train station. People go there to get on a train. They need internet access to see live updates about their route on their phone.
And right outside you can observe the lack of benches
What a great example of contemporary British architecture and urban furniture.
If this is curing the symptom, the actual illness is likely that the station is way too noisy. Maybe, something should also be done about that.
Truly fixing the problem will probably require ceiling access and take a long time. A quick solution like this is a good start.
