I can’t think of a worse actress than Amber Heard for this, she wasn’t silenced at all, she very publicly had her day in court.
As I recall it didn’t go very well for her.

And Depp lost his libel lawsuit in the UK. It was ruled that it is lawful to call him a “wife beater”. Amber Heard’s testimony was incredibly powerful there.
The US lawsuit saw an unprecedented amount of misogyny publicly launched at Amber Heard that went above and beyond anything she was actually guilty of doing.
I’m not familiar with the UK case but my comment is not a defence of Depp.
As I said, I understand the US case didn’t go well for her and she appeared to be an abuser.
Before you get mad about that, it is possible for two people in a relationship to both be abusive and not particularly uncommon.
As my comment stated, Heard’s testimony was key in the UK ruling.
Yes, of course two people in a relationship can both be abusive. There’s also the complicated topic of reactive abuse.
And aside from those facts - the level of sexism leveled at Heard in the US went above and beyond anything she deserved.
Depp hired a notorious PR firm to absolutely trash her in the media—the same person Baldoni hired in his lawsuit against Blake Lively. She had a PR firm working for her, too, of course but Depp’s person (Melissa Nathan) is known to be pretty evil and the fact that it’s a woman attacking another woman is pretty gross.
I think they are both probably shit people. It’s impossible to tell who is worse.
Does "survivors" now mean something more specific than what it says? Survivors of what? Fire, floods, car accidents, falling out of a tree? I feel like I'm just supposed to know, but I'm really not sure.

"Survivor" in this context tends to refer "Survivors of abuse/assault". The use of the term "victim" is generally not the preferred term.
