Hello! I got my paycheck on Friday, and it was even worse than the last one. To be specific, I get paid biweekly and I got paid about $350. I put down $250 a check on rent, and I'm supposed to help with the electric bill but my roommate has been letting me skip on that recently because of how bad my finances are. I'm not out completely out of money yet, but I figured it's best that I get ahead of asking for the help. I also have that beans and rice from the restaurant supply store, so at least I won't be starving.
So I'm asking for money for work transportation as always, I don't have my schedules for the next 2 weeks, so the number for transportation is just a guess for now. Other things I need to do include laundry at a laundromat (Ubers to and from, laundry soap for my sensitive ass skin, paying for the loads themselves) for both me and my roommate. I actually washed a lot of my clothes in the bathtub last week, but I had to use shampoo for the soap. Didn't make my skin break out, but my feet sweat so much that most of my socks look like cum socks
I want to buy stuff for both my own food, and my local aid attempt. Right now, I only have the most basic seasonings, I have salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and a cajun seasoning I borrowed from my downstairs neighbor and forgot to return. For the sake of actually having good beans and rice, I want to buy onions, garlic, citrus, and a few spice mixes so I have flavor variety.

I have done the math on my finances, and even if I cut out every creature comfort I do actually spend money on ($20 of weed every 2 weeks, smoking $3 packs of cigarettes, and I make $6 worth of cold brew a week) it wouldn't make much of a difference as I only spend about $30 -35 in non-essentials a week. I know y'all believe poor people should actually have creature comforts, so I don't need to defend myself on this. I don't even have furniture in my new apartment, all we have in the apartment is 2 beds and 2 office chairs I found on the side of the road.
I had one extra "unnecessary" expense this week, I sent someone on here $5. They were asking for much more, and unfortunately I couldn't really help much. But I know that our needs don't always get met on here, and that's fine. It's not the people of this comm's responsibility to make sure that we all eat and have our meds and all that. I always appreciate the help, but I never expect it. But I know that some days when it's a particularly emotionally important need (this one I sent $5 for was), it can be disheartening when nobody can help. Well, I sent this person $5 just as an "I hear you, I see your struggle, and I care". I do help people on here when I can, but as y'all know I'm pretty broke usually, so me sending money is more for morale support. There's another fairly popular poster on here that does the same thing, sometimes I'll post on here and get a random $2 and some change on my PayPal. I'll know exactly who sent it based off the amount, and I appreciate it every time. That user is also one of the people I know actually reads my long ass mutual aid posts that are half me just ranting, they can out themselves.
