In short:

Last year three police officers arrested an Aboriginal teenager at gunpoint, pulling him off a bus before realising he was not who they were looking for.

A report from the Commonwealth and ACT Ombudsman has found the 17-year-old was searched inappropriately following his arrest.

What's next?

The ombudsman made eight recommendations, five of which were accepted in full by the AFP and ACT Policing, with three accepted in principle.

Australia has always been “a good place to be white“. It’s a shame that society doesn’t stop tools and rectify this. Indigenous people deserve maximum respect and I would go a step further and say that they should not recognise any “laws” of their colonisers.
