Hey everyone, I'm the developer of Kiosk Satellite (a free, HA-focused Android kiosk browser) and Voice Satellite (a Home Assistant integration that turns your dashboard into a full voice assistant with wake word, mic bar, and on-screen responses).
Both projects have reached a point I'd call feature complete. Over the past months the focus shifted heavily toward performance and stability: lower memory and CPU usage on weak hardware (Fire tablets, Echo Shows, old Samsung tablets), wake word detection moved fully native with quantized models, camera and audio resilience, network outage recovery, MQTT device management, screensavers with widgets, gestures, app launcher, remote administration, and a lot more. Things are now in a state where devices run for weeks without intervention.
So I'd love to hear from people actually running them:
- What's working well for you, and on what hardware?
- What's missing or annoying? Any feature you keep wishing it had?
- Any stability issues you've hit that I should know about?
And just as important, if you tried Kiosk Satellite or Voice Satellite and decided to stick with an alternative like Fully Kiosk, WallPanel, or VACA, I'd genuinely like to know why. Was it a missing feature, a bug, setup friction, hardware support, or just "the thing I have already works"?
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported both projects through the Buy Me a Coffee link. These projects are free and always will be, and your support genuinely helps keep development going. It means a lot.
