I'm still holding on to my Analogue Pocket until I can make the large jump into CD games. If I kept upgrading FPGA consoles every time there was a new slightly better one, I'd be broke. Looks like this one can do PS1 well and N64 alright which are where the Analogue Pocket stops. So that's a good start. I need a good amount more to make the jump and the move, though. They're inching ever closer.
R36S can do the same (PS1, most N64, and even some PSP and Dreamcast) in a DMG form factor for like $30ish USD shipped right now. There is also the R36H if you prefer horizontal form factor for about the same price. I think it uses the same chip.
R36S, R36H, and the ones mentioned by OP are not FPGA though.
