Getting that rich is an obsession, a compulsion, a disease.

I would amend that, to "the only pleasure of the powerful is power".

The only good thing about this despicable ghoul is that it is dead, may oceans of piss flood its grave.

So have to be wealthy to get some time to yourself? Honestly this sounds pretty good to me. But also fuck that guy. Read Lenin

Just yesterday I was talking to this about a friend; money and happiness are not linked. In fact, there seems to exist a category of people that don't consider being loved a metric for happiness at all.

Take Trump, his measure of success seems to be how much he owns, and how much power and fear he can exert over people. Where normal people would get very depressed/scared/anxious if a majority of the people they know think badly of them. There is a category of people that are only focuses on money and power, even at the expense of being hated.

Being able to live your life somewhat carefree and being loved isn't their goal. In fact, the opposite is true - they live their life not in the pursuit of happiness, but in the pursuit of power, and if that happens at the cost of happiness, they don't care, or maybe they don't even notice. I couldn't imagine a life full of possibilities, but without people that genuinely love you.

Being feared is what makes them happy and having fuck you money makes them carefree. The pursuit of power is their pursuit of happiness.

Having no money and therefore no agency is almost certainly linked to not being happy.
