You can use engineered viruses to develop medical treatments like anti-cancer oncolytic viruses, viral vectors for gene therapy and viral immunotherapy.

Of course, you can also use them to engineer horrific diseases tailored to the genetics of specific groups of humans too, but I mean who would do that? I trust our billionaire overlords.

I wouldn't trust the billionaire dictators in the U.S. with a laser pointer, let alone a bioengineered virus.

We talked about this in my genetics class last year. The professor tried to stress that targeting a group of humans with a dangerous virus is risky, because they evolve rapidly and can infect any group of people beyond the targeted ones.

The fact that he had to stress it makes me lose hope for the future of humanity
