Cloudflare stats also seem to support peaks of 15% usage but around 9-10% on average. In the United States alone, the market share for Linux is nearly 12% now for the whole month and Cloudflare stats suggest peaks of up to 25% (!) Linux desktop usage on certain days and times.

The trendline suggests this is just the start. When will companies realize they cannot ignore Linux anymore?

Yes, good. I want to convert everyone I know to Linux. Windows just sucks (she says, typing from a Windows OS, because the software she needs for her job isn't supported on Linux ;-;)

I hope these are actual users. What OS do scraping bots use?

My guess is that probably Linux, but change their user-agent to appear as Windows.

Very nice to see. Hopefully the trend continues.

Hope the trend holds, would love to see Linux gradually grows. :)

When we reach a near balance with Windows Desktop, I would guess. With SteamOS and Proton, we have some attention from certain companies in the gaming scene (as well as some scorn from others). The more hardware with Linux installed on default, the better. Though the one advantage of using Linux is gradually being overwritten because there are so many idiots like Redhat, Canonical and a few others that are getting drunk on LLMs. I am hoping that a whole sloppening doesn't happen in the Linux scene like it has on Windows, but given people can contribute and get involved at any time...Some open source projects will be less affected than others.

It's what Macs use.
