Work Reform
A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
No, it seems OP wants to make us hate Gov Whitmer over one quote. Hard to forget the MANY progressive and people facing policies she has enacted.
There's been a lot of that flavor of psy-op around here. Lots of demonizing progressive and DSA politicians. The bots on the right are out in force!
Which progressive people facing policies are you referring to? I’ve only seen her help big business at the expense of taxpayers.
She banned conversion therapy in Michigan: https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/news/press-releases/2023/07/26/whitmer-signs-legislation-to-protect-lgbtq-youth-ban-conversion-therapy
She repealed abortion restrictions: https://web.archive.org/web/20260217004955/https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2023/11/21/whitmer-repeals-michigan-abortion-restrictions/71657347007/
She may not be the progressive voice we need, but it's disingenuous to pretend she's done nothing for regular people.
whike thise are polices thay have noting to do with helping "tax payers" at the expense of big business. This is some of the reason the right pulls people in.
Bare minimum lmao
Agreed. But the question wasn't, "What's the bare minimum a politician should do," it was, "What has she done that's progressive?" I listed two examples that I'm familiar with, though I would expect there's more.
I'm not saying she's some progressive paragon, but she can have enacted both progressive policies and regressive pro-corporate ones. Generally speaking, people aren't stereotypes, and anyone who's presenting that case should immediately raise red flags that they're either not engaged with what politicians are actually doing or they've got an agenda (see other politicians and pundits).
There's plenty of room to despise establishment Democrats without lying or oversimplifying them down to a single quote.
That's all they ever do
yeah, i’ve been pretty impressed with her from what i’ve seen/heard/read.
did she make a heel turn or is this just dr. claw trying to preempt her presidential run with shitty stories?
People be complicated, yo.
You can support some progressive policies, but also have the (incorrect) belief that these businesses are necessary for your state to have a strong economy in the future.
What has she impressed you with?
What fuck you talking about. She helps the rich and is that her not trying hide her face in the White house? I heard nothing good about her.
Democrats are trash and not progressive. They are right wing, corporate owned, Republicans using a different name.
Whitmer did say these words because she doesn't care what her people think. Like Clinton said politicians need a public and a private position, whitmers private position is now public..

Wow I didn't realise Sam Altman was so small, or that he looks so much like an imperfect clone of Elon Musk.
