Not acceptable to block rape kit funding, but we've been in support of defunding the police for some time.

Okay. The blurb below the link specifies it's federal funding being threatened. Do you really want police, and rape tests, funded by a guy who diddles children and attacks racial and sexual minorities? Here's an idea. Fund your police locally. Your police should answer to the citizens they support, not your felon-in-chief.

It's nice the federal government offers funding for these things, but it could be sourced locally.

Also, don't some of the more liberal states (e.g. California, New York) contribute more greatly to these federal funds? What if those states simply stopped paying? The federal government would be taking a loss on their stance here, and I don't think they'd stand for that for very long. So it seems like this is a losing battle if NY and CA resist.
