A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

His first suit was built in a cave, with a box of scraps. LOL.

In the MCU, adamantium was created when the Celestial was killed at the end of the Eternals, and vibranium is highly controlled by Wakanda.

In both the comics and movies, the Iron Man suit is a highly complex combination of different alloys, Iron is just in the name.

I don't remember that in Eternals.

It was the big plot point in Captain America: New World Order.

Can you tell me about it? Don't really feel like paying for one comic to find out.

Well, it's in the movies, not the comics. 😉

So in the movies, in Eternals, it turns out that the Earth is a giant egg for a cosmic race called the Celestials.

The Eternals are there to protect the egg until it hatches (killing everyone on Earth) and the Deviants are their enemies trying to... ? Unclear.

At the end of the film, the Eternals realize that the hatching Celestial will kill everyone and they use their powers to turn it into this giant mineral statue emerging in the Indian ocean.

Roll forward to Captain America: Brand New Day, it's revealed that this statue can be mined for a new mineral called "Adamantium" and the US is racing with China to lay claims for the mineral wealth.

Wakanda has total control over Vibranium, so whoever controlls Adamantium will gain an edge.

In the COMICS, Adamantium first appeared in Avengers #66 as the metal making up the body of Ultron. It was created in an attempt to duplicate the special properties of Captain America's shield.

Cap's shield is an alloy of Vibranium and an unnamed experimental steel.

Iron man's suit is a gold-titanium alloy. Not iron.

But those other materials are extremely rare,.with Wakanda controlling almost all of the vibranium on Earth. And Adamantium doesn't really exist in the MCU yet.

Adamantium was introduced in Captain America: Brave New World, it's being mined out of the dead Celestial from Eternals.

adimantium

Nitpick: "adamantium", with an "a".

Pretty sure in the comics he does eventually have suits made out of adamantium and other materials. He eventually has dozens of special purpose suits, and not like the paper mache ones from ironman 3. Those were a joke.

He has dozens of different suits, including one designed especially for fighting Magneto.
