Texas gets plenty of of rain. Will desalination be cheaper than water management?

The first line of the second paragraph points directly at a drought. So no, this corner of Texas is not getting plenty of rain. Never mind all the industry that's sucking potable water out of the community at pennies to their dollars...

I know about the drought and the flash floods, which send water to parts of the coast further away from the city.

My question was: “is it harder to move the water from the floods towards CC or is it harder to make a desalination plant?”

If you read the article or followed the news, you should know that CC is really running out of water. It is known for some time, but politics mostly ignored it. Rethinking the desalination now is a bit late if it could be completed not before 2029.
