Hopefully with something more than a strongly worded letter.

Ready to defend with strong words!

“We will officially communicate the consequences that this lack of responsibility on the part of the Russian Federation will have for the diplomatic relations between our countries, as well as the next steps at the European level regarding sanctions packages."

God I'm so fucking sick of all this non-action. I'm going to compare this to a parent's perspective (my own):

If a child misbehaves, they need to be taught. At a young age, they don't know any better, and so talking about it and teaching them is a solid first step. Young kids need to be told "NO" sometimes.

HOWEVER

Russia is the entitled, bratty, shithead teenager who was never told "NO" as a young child. NATO is the idiot parent who thinks their methods from when the teenager was a youngin' are still effective. They aren't.

NATO needs to step the fuck up and realize what they've created by never taking any actual action against Russia. Russia struck Romania. The very first step that NATO should have taken after this was an immediate erasure of the group that launched that attack. End of story. No more strongly-worded letters, no more finger wagging, none of that bullshit. Take some fucking action.

This is no different than making legal threats ("You're gonna hear from my lawyer!" kinda bullshit). Stop fucking talking and ACTUALLY DO IT. Legal threats mean fuck-all until action is taken. And when you never take action, people stop taking you seriously. Just like a shithead, bratty, entitled teenager.

Source: I have 5 kids, including two teenagers.

A large amount of anti-air defenses to Ukraine would be my recommendation. When Russia doesn't bother with drones/missiles because they can't get past the border anyway Romania is safe from drones.
