I think you have "hide read posts" turned on in eternity app itself. I was having the same confusion and ended up double posting by accident because my profile in eternity showed empty. So check, not in lemmy profile, but in the eternity app.

I do not. Even posts I haven't looked at don't show up.
You have to disable "hide read posts" in the settings on your account.
I don't have that enabled.
Just to be clear: I'm not talking about eternity settings. I'm talking about a setting you can only change from the web version of your instance. In your case, you have to go to https://lemmy.ml to change the setting.
I do not have that setting enabled and never have.
