Why didn't Disney realize that the show beloved for having no internal logic or direction, nonsensical plots, and a hundred IRL years of lore that either matters deeply or not at all depending on the weather wouldn't catch on with the masses?

Look, all we want is a zany time travel adventure where all bets are off, but is also completely consistent with decades of previous stories, and feels new and fresh while also seeming exactly the same as it always has been.
I just want a realistic, down-to-earth show, that's completely off-the-wall and swarming with magic robots.
