What the hell is a "Rimu"?

Hope this doesn't piss off the users over on Glub_Shitto!.net, their recent alliance with the skittish folks on !@#$%^&*().antisocial could unravel at any moment. Considering Shitto is still federated with the famous 100,000-user-strong LibDem instance $$ATOM$$.weed.not.zee

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The developer of the liberal version of lemmy that Hexbear will be switching to any day now.

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I reallly really hate the fact other instances exist besides us vegeta-pain

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 16 points 3 days ago

It is both a curse (when I’m tired of this shit) and a blessing (when I’m tired of this shit).

[–] xijinpingist@hexbear.net 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I can't understand anything in this comment after "what the hell." And I thought the chuds were incomprehensible with their zogbots wignat kosher nostra pozzed ziobankster babble

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago

CyborgMarx is just making fun of the fediverse in general and all the rather pointless drama that comes from it. None of it is real.

$$ATOM$$.weed.not.zee

they're not doing so well after much of their userbase migrated to either leftanarchy.nato or enlightenedlogic.de

[–] Moidialectica@hexbear.net 2 points 2 days ago

Some more fun things:

Coincides with the fact that Blahaj.zone and feddit.org both banned my Lemmy.ml account around the same time Rimu banned my account, which was when PugJesus made a long series of posts about me on MeanwhileOnGrad. That was a while ago, so presumably Rimu has a habit of using admin chats to try to get people to ban people Rimu doesn't like.

cw: ableism, misgendering

[–] y0kai@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

lol my ban for "harassment" was me telling him he was a child as i left a room on matrix. I don't believe I've interacted with him otherwise.

but whatever, I don't even use social, and haven't heard of the other instances that he told to ban me. Good riddance.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

Amazing, lmao.

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Saw that person trying to pick a fight with you from db0 and like wtf lmao.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago (12 children)

Yes dbzer0 has some cool users and some very not cool users. db0 gave us both a slap on the wrist, which is preferable to giving them a free pass to shit fling.

Man fuck pugjesus. I found them annoying when I was just scrolling on .world.

Also any ban against you is a real show of face. I find your comments always pleasant, calm, and enlightening with all the work you put into it.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago

Thanks so much for the kind words, I appreciate it! And yea, PJ is quite a character.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I'm guessing they're talking about Xinjiang or something and still trying to call that a genocide? (Despite the fact that we've been seeing a real one broadcast lately all over social media?)

Thanks! Love the context and very interesting discussion.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 18 points 3 days ago (2 children)

That comment section is hilarious I wish I knew how to make it a hexbear link so I could post in it because I'm way too fucking lazy to work find a login to another account.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

here ya go

Once some Hexbear has posted the easiest way is to click the rainbow thingy.

Before that it’s a pita.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Thanks. I really wish there was a simple "view this on my instance" button. Just a quick way to grab a thread and view it from your own federated home version.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The cat did give some helpful tips for getting there, but a simple button (or way to link threads like you can comms) would be so much easier.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

the cat

Sounds derogatory lmao

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

@edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space I don’t mean it that way, so if you take it that way please let met know and I’ll fix it.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

It's funnier if it is though there's a whole top-use-words vibe to it lol bottom-speak

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

If it takes it that way and is okay with it, I dunno that I’d do a great job of filling my role in this, but I suppose it’s good enough?

~~(Seriously @edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space, sorry to tag again, but if referring to you that way isn’t ok with you, I do want to fix this)~~ oh god I need to learn to refresh before posting

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You call someone a cat just cuz of suspicions. It hurts me.

spoilerNah its fine

spoilerI don't really take it derogatory myself. So it's welcome.

You can copy the URL and go into search and paste it, search, and it will show it on hexbear. Or search for the title or search for the community and find it through it.

Like I said, pita.

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago (2 children)

You all are still federated with piefed.social?

[–] PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@anarchist.nexus 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How am I supposed to clown on them if I'm not federated with them? 😆

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

huh, I guess ml is. It’s a shame I hold Hexbear to a higher standard than ml I guess.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Lemmy.ml by principle does not defederate from large instances, as it's the Dev instance. That's why it is the way it is, for better and worse.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah I do joke, but I’m not joking about holding Hexbear to a higher standard than ml. I know I do, and I do understand why ml doesn’t defed themselves.

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

Yea, fair! Just wanted to point out that Lemmy.ml doesn't defederate from shitty instances not because Lemmy.ml likes them more, but has different principles that make it better for some cases and worse for others.
