Face recognition just has such bad connotation. We need to do away with this label and call it something like "friend recognition" or just not talk about it at all!

It's doubtful that the kid 'fooled' it. It's far more likely that it's programmed to let any kids that try to circumvent it, 'fool' it.
I don't use any social media other than this, and maybe a few music/audio forums.
But. I honestly don't get why more haven't moved to Pixelfed or Nerimity, as they are far more privacy focused (not very hard comparing to anything Meta).
If it's lack of communities/people, why not use the meta platform to advertise one of those two, the way everyone did the "je suis Charlie" thing that was all over the news a few years ago?
Meta are apparently unable to stop users doing something like that, allegedly.
Or so it seems when it's not their problem.
