Ok without context this one is hilarious to me.

It seems downright nonsensical but it must correspond to a path behind the camera, right?

I'm guessing there is a huge puddle or lots of mud blocking the main path after it rains.

it's the gravel. You can see that it's "smooth and even" where the desire path joins the designated path. On foot it doesn't matter but on bike that short section—who knows why it's there—is unbearable.
