Comic Books

A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

Holy cow! It's a new week already! Time is speeding up or something!

Looking at the week...

Not a comic, but probably enough of an overlap to mention:

Dungeon Crawler Carl Volume 8 A Parade Of Horribles

I had no idea it was up to 8 books now. I guess that's why it got picked up by Peacock.

Absolute Martian Manhunter #11 - Been a minute on this one, I might have to re-read some stuff.

Olympus Saga Megalith #1 (Of 4) - I'm generally down for anything from Bad Idea, but 30 variant covers seems... excessive.

Department Of Truth #37

D'orc #4 - 1/2 Dawrf, 1/2 Orc, it's a D'orc!

Future Is ****** #13 - Still moving towards their 60 issue goal! Looking strong so far!

Geiger #23 - Ghost Machine still strong!

Mortal Thor #10 - Love the working man Thor.

Space Ghost Volume 2 #11 - Nearing the end of SG's year 2!

Ultimate Endgame #4 (Of 5) - Forgot this was still going...

X-Books:
Magik And Colossus #4 (Of 5)
Uncanny X-Men #28

  • Absolute Batman #20. I've loved the new take on each villain so far, and Scarecrow from the previous issue was no exception. Hope we see more of him. It was very open-ended as to what his powers even are.
  • Absolute Martian Manhunter #11
  • The Witcher: Blood Stone #4. Last issue in this series. This series hasn't been as interesting as the previous one, but maybe the final issue will tie things up nicely.
  • Uncanny X-Men #28. I'm glad we're finally seeing more of what's happening at Graymalkin Prison.

Ugh I haven't picked up in so long, I'm sure my store abandoned my box by now. Just been so broke between some life stuff and then right when I was about to go back this dumb war and gas prices said "no we'll be taking that money thank you."

I feel you, we put our box on hold for the double medical adventure of stage 2 colon cancer for me and a leg amputation for my wife (at the same time!)

I'm keeping a list of everything I'm missing.

Unfortunately I have not been, but I'll remember all the important ones for sure. Really I just feel bad that I haven't even called the store, I should do that.
