General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

No doubt the solution will be to swing to the right to chase after the voters who have already fucked off, rather than by having progressive policies that inspire their core base to come out and vote

The anti-immigrant Reform, meanwhile, had gained more than 350 seats across the local councils.

The Greens had more modest gains, picking up 23 seats by 10 a.m. local time (noon Israel time).

Yep agreed, inshallah the greens should do more tiktok videos to appeal to their extreme right religious and clueless progressive left fanbase

That'll no doubt appeal to the country of the UK who has only benefited from immigration with zero drawbacks at all

I know the MSM are gunning for him, but seriously, appointing The Dark Lord didn’t do the PM any favours. He should never have been considered for any job in government.

The Palestinian/Israeli issue hasn’t helped either, but he was going to be wrong on that whatever he did.

You’re right though - apathy from voters has played straight in to Farage’s hands. The slimy fucker will be getting even more airplay now.

The right voted for Reform rather than the shitty knock off version, as literally everybody knew would happen.

i think the UK is going to get a lot worse before it gets better :(

Dark times ahead if we see a Reform government. We're addicted to self harm!

I hope rental reform will make a difference (to people's lives and to politics)
