Tbh the defeat is mostly due to anti-incumbency. BJP has much better connect with the people than any other option and they stick to their ideology—no matter how shit it is—in all of their campaigns. And they spend much more on social media marketing in one state than Congress spends in a general election. Mamta Banerjee’s image fell more among the women voters after the medical college rape case — whose victim’s mother got a ticket from BJP and won. SIR did have an impact but not more than 3-5%. The opposition needs to get out of their delulu that just bashing BJP would win then elections. They need to provide an alternative vision which they failed to do so since 2014.
