Was glad to find out that Heart Of The Machine fits quite nicely

I'm playing Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream with my spouse! We're playing dollies with our D&D characters lmao

Civilization VII. It’s become my favorite version after IV.

I finally got Emudeck working properly so I've been enjoying a ton of old games! KOTOR, Tony Hawk Underground, Jak and Daxter, Shadow of Colossus, Mario Sunshine. I tried putting every NES, GB, and GBA game on there, but it wound up flooding my collections and messed up the folders, so I think I need to spend some time curtailing what I keep installed.

I am currently going through the old Lucas Arts adventure games. I just finished Sam and Max Hit The Road and I’ll be either doing Full Throttle or Monkey Island next.

Excellent choice Sir. Don't own a Steam deck myself but is considering one. How do you control the mouse cursor for these games?

[–] remnant2652@piefed.world 1 points 8 hours ago

The touch pads, they are like highly programmable laptop touchpads, and then left and right triggers for mouse clicks. There’s a ton of custom configs people have already made for games like these, so the controller buttons get mapped to various keyboard shortcuts for you. If you’re into these types of games, or even strategy games, this thing has been a powerhouse for me in that regard. Ps, getting Steam controller day 1 for the same reason, so then I can play these games on my living room tv no problem.

Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon is what I've been mostly playing lately. Not the smoothest experience on the Deck (3 summons alongside fire effects and the FPS count drops to single digits, oof) but it's a really great game and I've been having a lot of fun with it.

I've also been playing Capcom Vs SNK 2 through Capcom Fighting Collection 2, because why not. I am using a USB controller, though.

Mafia 2 Definitive edition.

The first one was great and I’m enjoying the second one for now.

Sledding Game! I’ve been waiting for it to come out for months and have been following along with the dev’s videos on YouTube. It’s tons of fun and super chill.

Just bought this one, thanks for the recommendation

My friends and I were discussing maybe picking it up for game night. We had a lot of fun with sledding shenanigans in RV there yet, so should be fun.

2024: Mosaic Retrospective - I got a fever, I gotta have more nonograms.

Slay the Spire 2 - It's addicting as the first game. I recommend getting the first one as it's still good and it's 75% off right now.

Mirror - 2nd playthrough. I got another fever, I gotta have more HuniePop.

Have you heard of Cini Cross? It's supposed to be kinda a spire-like nongram game

[–] tiberius@lemmy.ca 1 points 12 hours ago

Oh wow, thanks for the recommendation. This slip past my radar. It also has a demo!

Keep up the great work.

I'm currently getting close to the end of Pragmata. It's been a really fun game, the combat is new, the world has been interesting, and Diana is adorable. I think it's hilarious how some of the best loot you can find is just stuff like crayons for her to play with.

Death Stranding 2 has been a delight to play on the Deck, especially after the performance upgrade patches, though I miss the sounds the PlayStation controllers make when playing it on the PC.

Slay the Spire 2, especially the multi-player, has become a nigh daily ritual for me and my partner to play in bed a bit before sleeping and it runs just perfectly on the Steam Deck.

Ale Abbey is an old tycoon style game about running a monastery that makes all different sorts of beer, with a fairly robust and fascinatingly complex mixture of brewing and economic minigames. And while it's obviously meant to be played on the desktop, it works very well on the Steam Deck.

Octopath Traveller 2. I haven't played a turn based RPG in a while, and I've been having fun with it. I'm not very far in yet though.

And of course, still regularly playing Windblown. Motion Twin doesn't miss, it's so much fun and the music is great.
